K\u00fcrzlich ist es erstmals gelungen, Aufnahmen von Schwarzen L\u00f6chern, den wohl faszinierendsten und r\u00e4tselhaftesten Objekten im Universum, zu machen. Hierf\u00fcr sind Teleskope, die den ganzen Erdball umspannen, und hochkomplexe Berechnungen vonn\u00f6ten. Die \u201ckleinen Br\u00fcder\u201d der Schwarzen L\u00f6cher, die Neutronensterne, stellen wohl das reichhaltigste Laboratorium Einsteins dar. Nach wissenschaftlichen Stationen u.a. am Albert-Einstein-Institut in Potsdam wurde er 2013 auf die Professur f\u00fcr Theoretische Astrophysik an der Goethe-Universit\u00e4t berufen. Er forscht zu Schwarzen L\u00f6chern und Neutronensternen, wobei er numerische Simulationen der Allgemeinen Relativit\u00e4tstheorie einsetzt. Er wurde mit dem Karl-Schwarzschild-Preis und dem Breakthrough Prize for Fundamental Physics &nbsp;ausgezeichnet und ist Andrews-Professor f\u00fcr Astronomie am Trinity College in Dublin und Claus Wilhelm Fueck-Laureatus-Professor an der Goethe-Universit\u00e4t Frankfurt.<\/p>\n<\/details>",
