ELEMENTS hosts public reading of “The Disordered Cosmos”

[UPDATE: Unfortunately, the event had to be cancelled.]

On 9 November 2022, we are welcoming Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein, assistant professor of physics and astronomy at the University of New Hampshire, USA, to a public event where she will read from “The Disordered Cosmos – A Journey into Dark Matter, Spacetime, & Dreams Deferred”. In her book, she addresses questions like “Who is a scientist? Who is allowed to do research and under what conditions? And at whose expense?”, explaining not only the topics she researches in an accessible way, but also using numerous personal and historical examples to show what a major role racism, misogyny, and colonialism still play in the natural sciences and beyond.

The reading will take place in the framework of the WOW Physics! conference at Goethe University. For more details, please check our events.
