Mohab Abou Zeid

Project Officer & Assistant

Dr. Mohab Abou Zeid coordinates all administrative, financial and organisational aspects of the Cluster in close collaboration with the spokespersons and the research group leaders. He is a theoretical physicist with a strong research background in quantum gravity, string theory and quantum field theory. He was born in Cairo and educated in Geneva, Lausanne, Heidelberg, Cambridge and London. Amongst other appointments, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut for Gravitational Physics in Potsdam, a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Humboldt Universität in Berlin and a PPARC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Imperial College London.

He was an Erasmus Exchange Fellow, a Sunburst Fellow of the Council of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology, an Isaac Newton Institute Junior Fellow, a Chercheur Associé au CNRS, a Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellow and a Visiting Professor at Zewail University of Science and Technology in Cairo. He has taught in Geneva, Lausanne, London, Hannover and Frankfurt. He joined Goethe Universität Frankfurt in 2022. He is a keen tennis, piano and chess player.
